Many people who realize the dangers of climate change want to take action. They might start recycling, flying less, composting, or making more conscious consumption decisions. These are all great lifestyle changes that more people should make, but they can feel depressingly inadequate for making any kind of serious impact on mitigating the climate crisis.

That’s why Joan Gregerson wrote her new book, Climate Action Challenge: A Proven Plan for Launching Your Eco-Initiative in 90 Days.

Joan’s book dives deep into how to find your place in the climate movement, why building a team is so important, and how to launch a plan for real climate action. The emphasis always comes back to teamwork—it’s so much easier and uplifting to do climate work when you aren’t doing it alone.

I recently had a chance to talk with Joan over Instagram Live to learn more about her book and the accompanying free 90-day challenge for helping people get their eco-initiatives off the ground. We talked about how to find your “thread that runs through everything,” the importance of feelings in climate work, and, yes, storytelling. You can watch our full conversation on IGTV here, or on YouTube below.
